Many of the most vibrant reefs in the Red Sea are located where currents are strongest, as these currents bring the nutrients that feed the corals and attract large pelagic fish. This course will teach you:
- Drift Techniques: How to stay with your buddy and your group while moving with the current.
- Boat Procedures: Master the art of "negative entries" and being picked up by a zodiac or the main vessel.
- Buoyancy in Motion: Maintaining your depth and trim while the scenery flies past you.
- Safety Gear: Proper use of Surface Marker Buoys (SMBs) and signaling devices—essential skills for any serious diver.
Through 2 specialized drift dives, you will cover:
- Planning and organizing drift dives.
- Communication and staying together in a current.
- Mastering the use of floats, lines, and reels.
- Overview of causes and effects of currents.
Prerequisites
- Must be at least 12 years old.
- PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) certification.
- Available for all individual travelers joining our cruises.
- Fly over the reefs for an accessible, all-inclusive rate.
